Counsellor Advocate - Part Time 0.6 EFT

About us:

Barwon CASA & Minerva Community Services have merged to provide specialist case management, therapeutic counselling, prevention, early intervention and professional education regarding sexual assault and family violence across the Barwon and Wimmera Regions. We are a partner organisation in the Barwon Multidisciplinary Centre (MDC) with Victoria Police and DHHS Child Protection in providing a comprehensive victim centred response.

About the Role:

This position provides specialised counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual  assault  or  family  violence,  and  to  their  non-offending  family  or  friends. The role may also include the provision of therapeutic services and intervention to children and young people who engage in problematic or abusive sexualised behaviours.

The position reports to a senior counsellor advocate, is supported by a team of highly skilled and qualified practitioners and receives regular clinical supervision and valuable peer and organisational support.

The position is based in Geelong, Victoria and may require travel to outpost locations across the Barwon Region including the Bellarine Peninsula as well as Surf Coast and Colac Otway Shires.
