About the new Barwon Support and Safety Hub

The Victorian Government has committed to establishing a network of Support and Safety Hubs across Victoria. The Barwon Support and Safety Hub (Barwon Hub) is one of 5 new launch sites that will provide a new way of supporting women, children and young people experiencing or at risk of family violence and will change the way services work with women, children, young people, families and perpetrators of violence. The Barwon Hub team members are an integrated, collaborative team from BarwonCASA/Minerva, other Community Support Organisations in the Barwon area and FSV. You will work with young people (10 – 17yrs) who have challenging sexual/abusive behaviours.

Provide operational and strategic advice to Child Protection practitioners and their managers who undertake investigations of families where a child is or may be in need of protection due to family violence.

Barwon Support and Safety Hub - Family Violence Specialist Practitioners 

You will receive and manage all family violence referrals for women, children and young people to the Barwon Hub, including the delivery of client screening, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordination of referrals.

Work on a rostered, on call basis to provide specialist crisis care after hours service for adults, young people and children experiencing sexual assault and women and children experiencing family violence. Open Position Description
Counsellor Advocate 0.8EFT - Wimmera Based in Horsham (consideration given to being Hamilton based), you will provide specialist gender informed counselling to children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault or family violence and also provide counselling to non-offending family and friends.
