More Information on Barwon CASA Privacy

Can I bring children to an appointment?

It is preferential for children to not attend your counselling sessions.
We ask that when attending your appointment, you ensure you make a time with your counsellor when your children are at school, in care or are being looked after at home.

Alternatively if this is not possible, you may choose to bring a family member or friend that can attend the centre with you and watch after the children whilst you are in session.

Barwon CASA does not offer a child minding service, however we do have a dedicated children’s waiting room. All children need to be accompanied by an adult whilst using this area.

Can I remain anonymous?

Yes, you can remain anonymous. We understand that some people are not comfortable disclosing their name when making contact with Barwon CASA.

If you wish your data to remain anonymous please speak with a Counsellor Advocate.

Do you have someone that can come out and deliver a talk or training to our organisation about the work that you do?

Due to the high demand for our staff to deliver talks to organisations, we offer annual professional training packages on issues relating to sexual assault, problematic sexual behaviours, family violence and trauma.

If your organisation is seeking specific training tailored to your needs we are happy to discuss how we can assist.

Barwon CASA training and professional development is informed by best practice and current research and theory relating to complex issues of trauma, sexual abuse and family violence.

The aim of our professional development program is to enhance the skills and confidence for professionals working with trauma, abuse and violence.
