Someone sent me a sexy pic or nude selfie that I didn’t want

Sometimes others might send sexy pictures to you that you do not want. They might be trying to harass or intimidate you or might think it’s funny. They might think it’s no big deal because their mates have done it before. It is not okay for someone to send you a sexy picture you didn’t want or that made you feel uncomfortable threatened or frightened.  This behaviour is against the law and you do not have to put up with it.

What can I do about it?

  • You can contact the Victoria Police SOCIT Unit on 5223 7200. They can let you know more about the law and give you information that might help you decide if you want to make a report
  • If you don’t want to contact the police or would like some support around doing this you can contact us at Barwon CASA click here for info on how to contact us.
  • While you might feel like getting back at the person or letting other people know what they’ve done, it is important that you do not send the image on to others or post it on the internet. Doing these things might mean that you could also be charged.
